WHAT DOES
HOPE
LOOK LIKE?

Dogs are forced into filthy cages
and transported long hours —
or locked away on farms
for months or years —
under horrific conditions, then are
brutally butchered for profit
as part of the dog meat trade.

You can help them.

WHAT DOES
CRUELTY
LOOK LIKE?

Inhumane

Dogs are hung, electrocuted, and sometimes left fully conscious as they’re slaughtered. Many are stolen pets, still wearing their collars.

Brutal

Dogs suffer immensely during the butchering process. Knives are often too dull to kill on the first strike.

Horrible Conditions

Hundreds of dogs are crowded together and denied proper food, water and veterinary care as, bewildered and terrified, they wait to die.

WHAT DOES
CHANGE
LOOK LIKE?

Helping Animals

We work to end the brutality within the dog meat trade by deploying teams to intercept trucks bound for slaughter in China and to shut down dog meat farms in South Korea.

Driving
Cultural Change

HSI partners with local organizations to change public opinion about consuming dog meat and funds the start-up of sustainable alternative livelihoods for South Korean dog meat farmers who want to get out of the business.

Advocacy

We have seen that real change for animals is possible when we bring a strong community together with a purpose. The tide is turning against dog meat; this is a fight we can win. Please, join us.
